Beth at work... on some sushi.
From team leader Beth’s newsletter…
The first week of January was the first time Unterwegs officially took part in an event with other area ministries. They even recognized us as one of the student ministries.
A comment that stood out from the night was when someone was introducing me and they said, “they are the ministry for people who don’t know Jesus.”
Unterwegs: the ministry for non-Christians. This is where we have found our niche in Tübingen. The other ministries are places where students who are already Christians go – and there is a need for that. But what we feel is tragic is the distance between Christians and non-Christians in this city. It is rare that non-Christians feel welcomed by Christians.
…
On Jan. 20th we welcomed 63 students into Unterwegs for a concert. Half of the students had never been to Unterwegs before. – and they were not the “church-going crowd.”
Where it is nice to be a place where [our students] have leadership, we want to also be a place that bridges that gap. We want more [students, Christian and non], and to be a place where [our students] realize that their voices are important to us because we love them as Jesus loves them.
